KNOW FIRST AID FOR YOU™
The KNOW First Aid 4 You workshop provides age appropriate first aid awareness and skills that facilitate the ability of each child across America to react appropriately to the most common accidents and injuries that occur whether at home, school or play. The skill base and knowledge incorporated into the workshop enables a child to gain confidence in their personal capabilities when confronted with an injury or accidental situation and in doing so minimizes the panic that has the potential to increase the likelihood of a negative outcome from the accident or injury.
The KNOW First Aid 4 You Workshop takes a positive approach to injury treatment and response by isolating the most common injuries that occur and educating the children in the treatment practices that they can employ to minimize the long-term impact of these injuries and obtain help from adults when necessary. The single most effective factor in ensuring that children react proactively to the most common injuries that they will encounter is education and KNOW delivers this necessary education through the interactive workshop components that enables every child to form situational habits, use safety promoting tools and employ proactive practices that minimize potential long term negative outcomes.
The age-appropriate, immediate functions required to treat the most common injury situations are detailed and the knowledge of how and when to obtain assistance from an adult, medical provider or emergency service is incorporated in a manner that enables the child to act proactively to the most common accident scenarios regardless of the presence of adult supervisors. This ability of each child to integrate the workshop skills into their lives in a manner that enables action from a habitual response ensures that if an injury were to occur, the child acts with immediacy rather than pausing to determine the best practices to employ. This helps to ensure the injury is addressed with a minimal amount of time lost.
