KNOW HOW TO SAY NO WAY™
One critical element to halting the spread of drugs within our community is to halt the demand. To minimize the demand for drugs, we must begin with the youngest members of our community. We must promote positive peer relationships, commitment to the community in which our children live and a desire to participate in beneficial extra curricular activities. These are proven elements that assist every child in knowing HOW TO SAY NO WAY to drugs.
The KNOW How to Say No Way Workshop provides the positive message-based program that ensures that our children have an understanding of the dangers inherent in the use of drugs and alcohol by raising the awareness of these dangers in a high impact, low-pressure venue. The workshop promotes the skills and knowledge necessary to assist children in gaining the capability to subvert peer-pressure and attain positive peer relationships that lead to beneficial, fun-filled relationships that promote an active lifestyle and diverse interest base.
The workshop effectively enhances the benefits of positive community involvement by illustrating to our young people the commitment of our community to creating a safe venue where they can live, learn and grow. Our community offers many opportunities for our children to participate in fun-filled activities that decrease the probability that a child will turn to drugs for entertainment. By illustrating the enjoyment that can be gained by participation in positive activities and encouraging the formation of suitable peer relationships we decrease the likelihood that every child attending a KNOW How to Say No Way Workshop will seek out drugs or other negative influences in the future.
The ability of the workshop volunteers to use the tools of the KNOW How to Say No Way Workshop to address this complicated issue in a manner that shows the support available to every young person in the community is perhaps the most effective component of the KNOW Workshop series.
