The youth of our country are our most valuable asset and it must be the goal of each American to ensure that our children have the opportunity to KNOW how to grow up strong, healthy, and safe! The first component in empowering our children is to provide them with the fundamental knowledge, tools, and skills necessary to choose healthier, safer lifestyles. Research has proven that the earlier we integrate the proper health and safety habits into the knowledge base of our youth, the higher the ability of these children to create and maintain these positive habits for a lifetime.

The KNOW Project is an IRS approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to provide fun-filled, interactive workshops to children that enable them to gain the fundamental knowledge and skills that are necessary to grow up strong, healthy and safe. The Know Project workshops focus on the critical elements of

· Children’s Fire Safety and Prevention at the Know Fire Safety Workshop™

· Children’s Accident and Injury Treatment at the Know First Aid For You Workshop™

· Food, Nutrition and healthy lifestyles for children at the Know Great Grub Workshop™

· Children’s Disease Prevention at the Know Healthy Habits Workshop™

· Children’s Injury Prevention at the Know Home Safety Workshop™

· Children’s Drug and Alcohol Use Prevention at the Know How to Say No Way Workshop™

· Children’s Outdoor and Weather Related Safety at the Know Outdoor Safety Workshop™

· Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention at the Know Stranger Danger Workshop™

· Children’s Pedestrian, Bicycle and Vehicle Safety at the Know Street Safety Workshop™

Created by educators, parents and safety minded individuals, the KNOW Project workshop series employs techniques and learning methodology proven to enable our children to gain the knowledge and skill base that they need to become active participants in their own safety, health and well-being. Each workshop series focuses on a core grouping of messages that are delivered using a multi-faceted approach that enables every child to incorporate these functional skills into their daily lives and develop positive habits that will last a lifetime. Statistics have shown that the integration of the skills incorporated into the KNOW Project Workshops are most effective when presented to youth between the ages of 5 and 11. The KNOW Project Workshops are created based upon the skill level, learning styles and interactive methodology proven most effective in reaching these age groups. Youth from every economic sub-section and familial status will benefit from attendance at the KNOW Project Workshops.

The KNOW Project believes strongly that every child has the right to KNOW how to grow up strong, healthy and safe. In keeping with our core values, the goal of the KNOW Project will be to offer these workshops free or at a minimal cost to every interested child.
